PIHC ADVANCED CYCLING COURSE

Following hot on the heels of our first Advanced Cycling Training program - we are proud to bring to you the SECOND training program dubbed ACG Team #2.

We are privileged to have the 2009 National Road Masters Champion Neil Manning, the holder of numerous state and national competitions to be our return Cycling Coach and Facilitator for this 10 week program,.

Neil is well known the local cycling circuit - otherwise known by his Plan B colleagues as The Terminator and his resume as a very qualified Cycling Facilitator, coach, mentor, Risk Management Officer for Cycling WA as well as an elite road cyclist is well documented and known in the world of cycling.

Course Program
Date: Commences 3 May 2010 for 10 weeks. End of course date: 5 July 2010.
Frequency: Majority of course is at x 2 a week intervals, part of the course requires x 3 a week intervals especially when there are other components involved.

Range of Activities:
1. Advanced cycling skills techniques (specifics to be provided onto to formal participants of the course at the course briefing)
2. Cross training involving sessions on the Huber, Swimming & Indoor Cycle Training.
3. Theory sessions include: Biomechanics, Performance Enhancement, Feet Care & Exercise Physiology
4. Pre and Post Clinical Assessment and Physiological Testing.
5. Massage Therapy session

Cost:
$580 which includes 2 pre and post assessments, 5 theory sessions, 14 practical cycle sessions, 2 exercise physiology sessions, 2 swimming training sessions, 1 massage session and coaches and practitioner fees. The fee does not include pool entry cost and transport to and from site of cycling training. Considering the extent and depth of this course over the 10 weeks with between 2 to 3 sessions per week, this represents value for money.

Insurance:
Participants are expected to present with their own insurance coverage for riding and their equipment and PIHC is not responsible for any insurance coverage or claims in the course of the program. We will reserve the right to inspect and request a copy of your cycling insurance at the time of the booking in for the cycling assessment. Course Locations:
Specific weekly course locations will be provided to participants at the introductory session. Introductory session to be held on the 3 May 2010 at PIHC Northern Districts Centre in Balcatta at 6 am (1 hour and 15 mins session) where you will meet the ACG Team Coach & Director Sportif and the other team members.

Fitness Assessment:
All participants will be required to undertake a pre and a post assessment which is part of this course. All assessments needs to be booked in to see Inez Ngiau, Occupational Therapist at PIHC Northern Districts (Balcatta) on 92405266 or by emailing: appointments@pihc.com.au The Pre assessment must be accomplished before the start of the course.

Qualifications:
Road cyclists who average greater than 30 km/h and ride in excess of 100 km per week would benefit greatly from this course. Participants of recreational events such as Cyclosportif who are at the A or B level will also benefit from the course. If you do not fit these criteria at this point, then the PIHC Cycle Skills training course is probably better for you. Contact me for more information if this is required at: ianwee@pihc.com.au

Cost Payment:
$580 per person. There is no option for part attendance or partial payments please. Payment must be effected through our external Registration system - Register Now. Payment via Register Now is via credit card: Master or Visa accepted. There will be no refunds for cancellations or partial attendance of this course.
