PIHC Cycling Teams @ CS Pinjarra
4/10/09
Dear
Fellow Cyclists for CS Pinjarra 2009
Thank
you for making me proud today- by having one of the largest
presence of PIHC riders at a CS event of which I believe
this is the largest for 2009.
First
timers, you know who you are and we look forward to having
you with us again in 2009.
W
ell
done for completing the 30 km, 45 km and the 75 km events. I
am sure the boys in the 75 km would agree that they have
just experienced a once in a lifetime participation event
with Cameron Meyer as World Champion and Chris Thompson
being the 2008 National Masters Australian road champion.
Bragging rights from here on to your older years to come!
Marco and Alex - no more badgering me as from today ok?
Special
mention goes out to two young riders with us today Kane Ward
and Harry Nesbit - both who are doing their Year 12 studies.
Also special mention goes to Bill Staude our senior rider
with us today. Well done gents!
We must
not also forget our very special photographer Amy Jeenjiu
(Jimmie's wife) who braved the cold winds and sun rays to
provide us with many quality shots and sacrificed her
intended sleep in the car in the process! Thanks Amy!
For
those of you who had to push yourselves up those hills and
those feeling fatigue in those legs and hips, don’t forget
to do a shake down ride tomorrow (within 24 hours is best)
and also to do those stretches given to you.
Many
thanks once again - don't forget Team M for Mike start on
the 13 Oct 2009 and we still have about 4 places left for
those wishing to train for the next 10 weeks with the PIHC
cycling clubs. More info on this - email me at: ianwee@pihc.com.au
Cameron
Meyer - thanks so much for making this a memorable event for
all of us at the PIHC cycling club. You are a true gentleman
both off and on the bike and I am sure those who were so
fortunate to share with your company today have learnt a lot
more about cycling and themselves.
Kind regards
Ian Wee

Fundraiser - Cameron Meyer Ride for Claire Anderson 19/9/09
Dear Fellow Cyclists
For those who managed to
attend last Saturday's ride - a heart felt thank you
from the team at the Perth Integrated Health Clinic,
from our World Champion Cameron Meyer and from a very
grateful Claire Anderson. I have appended a message that
was sent to me from Claire on the weekend, which I would
like to share with every one:
Message from Claire
Anderson
Dear
Ian, Cameron and the Perth Integrated Health Cycling
Members,
Please
accept my heartfelt thanks for your contribution to help
me continue medical treatment in India which will
improve the quality of my life. The support I have
received from all of you has been overwhelming and makes
me feel very humble. Please know I won’t forget your
kind gesture.
Thank
you again from the bottom of my heart.
Claire
Funds Raised
We managed to raise a total
of $1200.50 at this stage, with more pledges to come in
by tomorrow from those who were unable to attend at the
last minute and from those who forgot to donate in the
heat of the excitement!
The Ride
Feedback provided by all
confirmed that the ride was fun and relaxing though from
the point of the chase vehicle, we suspect that many
people spooled up their speed and made the 40+ km in
record time.
For those who took the
wrong turns or got a little lost along the way, thanks
for the good spirit and nature – it is all worth while.
A bit of wind, a bit of
rain and a bit of sunshine and for all – definitely
preliminary preparations for the upcoming Great Perth
Bike Ride in Nov 2009.
World Cycling Champion –
Cameron Meyer
All of you will agree with
me how fortunate and lucky we are to have such a great
ambassador of cycling in our midst. Many people at the
event commented how grounded and relaxed Cameron is as
an individual and how amicable he is to help others in
need. Cameron we thank you once again for your
contribution and for allowing us cyclists to share your
passion and sport with you.
In conclusion, I wish to
thank everyone who made it possible this weekend.
Without your help and specifically Cameron’s this event
for Claire would not have been possible.
Kind regards
Ian Wee

The
Cool Clear Water Company
Official Primary Sponsor for
2009 - PIHC Cycling Club Programs.
An innovative and unique way of introducing health and
fitness, the Perth Integrated Health Clinic (PIHC) leads the
way once again with the creation of a Cycling Course with a
difference.
Cycling is now regarded as the new millennium sport, just as
golf was in the previous. The uptake by many in the
corporate and executive sector has been encouraging.
Until now, most people who indulged in cycling do so without
any proper clinical advice, proper cycling skills,
supervision or guided motivation.
See the
PIHC Cycling Course for more
information.
